Episode 2: Packers, What Now?

Most of us just got done watching the Eagles dismantle the a team that has not been embarrassed like that since their last super bowl loss against Tom Brady and the Bucs. And might I say that Tom was struggling to hide his happiness with how bad the Chiefs were getting whooped so he could continue his GOAT title without any arguments. Anyway, my mind immediately went to how the Packers played a relatively competitive game against this Eagles defense which, with all due respect to the teams I do not remember, was one of the top defenses in my lifetime. They did not blitz one time that game yet were able to get countless pressures and 6 sacks. That is insane and being it that all I want in my football life is to see the Packers win another championship, it got me thinking about what do they need to do to be close to the Eagles.

It starts with the defensive line. The Packers have continued to struggle to get pressure on QBs and until this is figured out, they have no chance to win when it counts. While I have great hope that Rashan Gary will become a great, I have not seen enough from him or seen anything from anyone else on the current roster that tells me they are going to be competitive up front. So what can be done? Draft picks are important. But they are not as important as NFL teams make them out to be. This team has to do what it takes to get Maxx Crosby on this team. He is exactly what the Packers are lacking. A dude that never comes off the field, is one of the best competitors in the league, and someone who is a game changer. I am sick and tired of the Packers continuing to rely on drafting someone who is going to be the next Reggie White. They have proven to us fans time and time again that while they get people like Edgerrin Cooper, they also get people like Lukas Van Ness. Someone who we can not rely on to be get the job done. Also trading out of the first round and not drafting TJ Watt is still one of the biggest fumbles from this team even if it was not on Gute.

The Eagles are not afraid to trade. Getting AJ Brown was one of the biggest steals years ago and then they draft possible better than anyone. All I am asking is the Packers to take notes. I need to see Jordan Love raise the trophy. All I want. Will we ever see it?
